Comcast and DirecTV Report Strong Earnings but Television Concerns Linger

Comcast recently filed a lawsuit against DirecTV, claiming that the satellite provider's free NFL Sunday Ticket promotion was a misrepresentation that could lead to customer losses for the cable giant. 2Q11 results indicate however that DirecTV’s customer growth in the U.S. has slowed. Both Comcast and DirecTV posted strong earnings in 2Q11, though the gains may be unsustainable.
