Verizon Wireless Announces New Prepaid Plans

Verizon Wireless announced the availability of a new prepaid plan beginning May 1, offering unlimited talk and text messaging, as well as 1 GB of data for $80 per month. This monthly plan is available on the prepaid Samsung Illusion. The Samsung Illusion prepaid package will also be available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online  for $169.99. In the coming weeks, the Samsung Illusion prepaid is also available at Best Buy, Target, RadioShack and Walmart.

Additionally, starting May 1, customers can purchase a prepaid Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4510L and take advantage of new prepaid Mobile Broadband plans. With the prepaid Jetpack, customers can now create a personal Wi-Fi cloud capable of sharing the high-speed Internet connectivity of the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network with up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices simultaneously. The Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4510L prepaid package will be available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online for $129.99. In the coming weeks, it will also be available at Best Buy, RadioShack and Walmart.

US Cellular and Alltel Wireless Join to Offer Prepaid Service at Walmart

U.S. Cellular (NYSE:USM) and Alltel Wireless have joined together to begin offering U Prepaid, a no contract wireless service, in select Walmart Stores, Inc. in local communities across 18 states beginning in May. The alliance, the first of its kind in the industry, offers customers flexible payment options without signing a contract.

The new alliance provides Walmart customers simplified, easy-to-understand service plan choices. Depending on where customers live, the U Prepaid service will run on either U.S. Cellular's or Alltel's network.

Customers will be able to select one of four U Prepaid devices that best meets their personal needs. The Android-powered Samsung Repp, the LG Attune/LG Exchange, LG Saber, and the Samsung Chrono.

AT&T Announces New Prepaid Data Packages

AT&T (NYSE:T) announced the following new data packages with double the data or more for the same price for GoPhone customers, available April 22. 

• 1 GB             $25
• 200 MB         $15
• 50 MB           $5     

Data packages are available on GoPhone’s line up of monthly plans.  All data packages are available on the $50 Unlimited Talk & Text nationwide plan for GoPhone smartphones and the $25 Unlimited Text with 250 minutes nationwide GoPhone plan. 

T-Mobile USA and 7-Eleven Partner to Provide Prepaid Service

T-Mobile USA, Inc.  and 7-Eleven, Inc. announced the availability of a T-Mobile prepaid, no term contract handset in the retail chain’s 7-Eleven stores. The handset works with T-Mobile’s prepaid plans and services that run on its nationwide 4G network.

AT&T Offers Prepaid Talk, Text and Web for $50

AT&T (NYSE:T) announced that its GoPhone customers can now take advantage of a new unlimited talk, text and web nationwide plan for $50 per month. Unlimited text and instant messaging to Mexico, Canada and 100 other countries are also included at no additional cost.
