Alaska Communications Systems Group ("ACS") (Nasdaq:ALSK) has appointed Michael Todd to a newly created leadership position at the Company -- vice president, engineering.
In this role, Todd will drive strategic and operational network planning and engineering for all of ACS' wireless and wireline networks. Todd will lead product innovation, support complex sales efforts and oversee the design, engineering and optimization of ACS' network, including the repositioning of ACS' existing infrastructure to better serve the needs of Enterprise customers.

Todd is a seasoned veteran of telecom engineering and operations management. He comes to ACS from Sprint where he most recently served as staff operations director, network services. He also held other leadership positions at Sprint (NYSE:S), and has previously served in technology and leadership roles in other companies.

Todd's appointment is effective immediately. He and his family are relocating to Anchorage from Overland Park, Kansas.
