Dively, a Senior Vice President of Consolidated Communications Holdings, Inc., informed the company of his decision to resign from the company, effective as of May 6, 2011, in order to accept the positions of Senior Executive Vice President of First Mid-Illinois Bancshares, Inc. and President of its subsidiary, First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust, N.A.

Public Interest Organizations Request Combined Review of AT&T; Buys

Free Press, Media Access Project, Public Knowledge, Consumers Union, and the Open Technology Initiative of the New America Foundation wrote a letter to the FCC expressing their concerns of the proposed AT&T - T-Mobile merger.  The organizations also requested a denial of the Qualcomm license transfer.  The organizations said, "if the Commission does not immediately deny the proposed Qualcomm license transfer as requested by numerous parties, the two proceedings should be combined to enable a full and complete competitive analysis.

Clearwire and Sprint Expand Michigan 4G Network

Clearwire (Nasdaq:CLWR) and Sprint (NYSE:S) announced an expansion of the Clearwire 4G network footprint and capacity upgrades for mobile broadband customers in the greater Grand Rapids metro area. The regional CLEAR and Sprint 4G service area has added coverage for an additional 24,707 people. Now, more than 306,220 people in the Grand Rapids area have access to Clearwire's 4G mobile broadband network. This expansion represents new coverage since Clearwire's initial launch on August 3, 2010.
