TDS Introduces Hosted IP for Businesses in Amelia, Virginia

TDS Telecommunications Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. (NYSE:TDS), announced that it is introducing a new communications solution for businesses in the Amelia area. Known as TDS managedIP Hosted, this Internet Protocol (IP) communications solution integrates voice and data as a single communications solution.

The managedIP solution is part of a suite of new solutions TDS is introducing in the area. Other services include VoIP like services that allow businesses to enjoy some of the IP-based technology while continuing to use their current IP PBX or current phone system

TDS managedIP is currently available in parts of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. TDS plans to continue expanding availability of its managedIP service to more markets throughout the year.

TDS Opens Bid Process for Broadband Stimulus Project in New Castle, Va.

TDS Telecommunications Corp.,  a wholly owned subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. (NYSE:TDS), hosted the pre-bid meeting to outline the project which will expand the company’s broadband network in New Castle, Virginia. Contractors from five telecom construction companies received details earlier today to bid on the broadband Internet expansion project.  Bids are due to TDS by April 26, 2012.

Once complete, nearly 300 customers in TDS’ New Castle Telephone Company in Virginia will have access to a high-speed Internet connection. The areas impacted are around Paint Bank and Abbott. The project is one of 44 TDS has received funding for from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act via the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Utilities Service (RUS).

Telecommunications Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. (NYSE:TDS), announced that it has hosted the pre-bid meeting to outline the project which will expand the company’s broadband network in the area. Contractors from five telecom construction companies received details to bid on the broadband Internet expansion project on the border of Florida and Georgia, near Quincy, Fla. TDS Bids are due to TDS by April 16, 2012.

Once complete, nearly 430 customers in TDS’ Quincy Telephone Company in this Florida/Georgia area will have access to a high-speed Internet connection.

(NYSE: TDS), announced that it hosted the pre-bid meeting to outline the project which will expand the company’s broadband network in the area. Contractors from five telecom construction companies received details to bid on the broadband Internet expansion project around Blue Ridge, Ga. Bids are due to TDS by April 19, 2012.

Once complete, nearly 370 customers in TDS’ Blue Ridge Telephone Company in Georgia will have access to a high-speed Internet connection. The project is one of 44 TDS has received funding for from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act via the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Utilities Service (RUS).

TDS Expands TV Offering to St. Mary's, Georgia

TDS Telecommunications Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. (NYSE:TDS), announced that TDS TV is now available in select St. Marys, Ga. neighborhoods.

Powered by Microsoft Mediaroom, TDS TV is the most advanced TV service available in St. Marys. It features more than 240 all-digital channels (including HD), picture-in-picture channel surfing, instant channel change, and a connected-home DVR. The connected-home DVR, which comes standard with TDS TV service, lets customers enjoy the features and functionality of one DVR on multiple TVs in their home. It can store up to 400 hours of standard-definition programming.

TDS introduced TDS TV in Farragut and Mt. Juliet, Tenn. in 2008; earlier this month, it was rolled out in La Vergne, Tenn.
