EarthLink Launches New Cloud Bundles

These packages are designed to simplify the cloud so businesses can leverage the benefits of virtualization services. The Cloud Launch Pad, the Cloud Entry Bundle, and the Secure Email Bundle enable customers to economically partner with EarthLink to complement their internal IT resources by leveraging a comprehensive mix of IT Services and security experts in an enterprise class data center environment.

Cloud Launch Pad is designed for organizations that want to leverage the benefits of a virtual environment or that currently run VMware environments and need additional elastic computing capacity. Ideal for a virtualization deployment with hosted applications, the Cloud Entry Bundle is for customers that have not virtualized or have limited IT capital or operating budget. The Secure Email Bundle is designed for organizations that require an email suite for secure collaboration and file transfer due to certain industry compliance regulations.

Cincinnati Bell Launches Cloud Service with Apptix and Parallels

Cincinnati Bell (NYSE:CBB) announced the expansion of its portfolio of telecommunications and IT services for businesses with the addition of cloud-based Microsoft Communication and Collaboration Solutions powered by hosted business services provider Apptix (OSE: APP) and Parallels, the leading provider of cloud service delivery software.

Kalona Cooperative Telephone Selects CHR to Deliver Cloud Solutions

CHR Solutions, Inc. announced Kalona Cooperative Telephone Company (KCTC) has selected CHR’s Cloud Solution to deliver white label Cloud Applications and Services to the Iowa-based company’s small to medium-sized business (SMB) market. This partnership offers KCTC the necessary cloud infrastructure, platform, and technology to quickly deliver revenue generating applications and services.

“We received a number of requests from our SMB business customer base who were looking for productivity solutions, specifically online backup and storage, web hosting and hosted server solutions. Unfortunately, we did not have the local resources to deliver this solution nor did we want to undertake the capital investment it would require to build out this offering,” said Gary Davis, general manager, Kalona Cooperative Telephone Company. “After meeting with CHR and seeing their Cloud solution first-hand, it was an easy decision for us. Google Launches New Cloud Service - Google Drive

Google announced that it has launched Google Drive, its new cloud storage offering. Each Apps user gets 5GB of storage included and administrators can centrally purchase and manage more. When a user reaches their limit, administrators on Google Apps for Business accounts can buy storage as it’s needed. Start with an additional 20GB for $4 per month and add as much as 16TB. (Just as before, Google Docs don’t count against your storage quota.)

Google Drive will launch with an Android app for smartphones and tablets running Google's mobile operating system and in conjunction with 20 third-party apps.
