Clear Creek Offers Home Automation Platform for Rural Providers 

Through Alarm.com Clear Creek Offers Regional Partner Program

On January 30, 2014 Independent communications cooperative Clear Creek Communications of Oregon City, Oregon announced  the availability of their ClearView Security and Home Automation platform for the rural broadband service provider community. With the ClearView Regional Partner program, service providers gain access to a turnkey home automation platform that enhances their current product portfolio with home security, monitoring, and control solutions.  

Two regional partners, Stayton Telephone Cooperative of Stayton, Oregon and Scio Mutual Telephone of Scio, Oregon have recently emerged from a multi-month beta test program and have now made ClearView commercially available.

ClearView is strategically linked to Alarm.com.

AT&T; Plans Nationwide Launch into the Home Security Business

AT&T (NYSE:T) announced plans for a new portfolio of all-digital, IP-based home security monitoring and automation services.  Called AT&T Digital Life, the services will give users control and security of their homes using any web-enabled device, PCs, tablets and smartphones, regardless of wireless carrier.

AT&T plans to begin trials in Atlanta and Dallas this summer. 

Managed by a newly created Digital Life group, the remote monitoring and automation portfolio will feature web-based access to automation, energy and water controls, as well as professionally monitored security services. The devices will be wirelessly enabled to connect to the IP-based AT&T Digital Life platform inside the home. 

The Digital Life platform includes built-in AT&T mobile internet service and will also be capable of Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, and wired broadband connections. Trial subscribers can use their own wired broadband solution with the Digital Life system and can access the service and remotely control the products from smartphones, tablets and PCs, regardless of carrier.

Cox Launches Social Destination for Small Business

Cox Business announced the launch of an online social destination for businesses. The website, BLUE Powered by Cox Business, contains exclusive content from global social media, marketing and business leaders and is free to all businesses. BLUE Powered by Cox Business is part of Cox's strategy to engage in conversations with business owners and help them leverage technology to achieve their goals.

BLUE Powered by Cox Business will feature original content from approximately 30 contributors including business experts from various industries, technologists, social media and marketing innovators and influential writers. Cox executives will also share key insights from their areas of expertise with site visitors.

BLUE Powered by Cox Business was soft-launched at the end of March and marked the company's first formal social initiative designed specifically for businesses. Beginning this week, business can also interact with Cox via dedicated Google+, LinkedIn and Twitter destinations.

Garden Valley Telephone Cooperative Updates IPTV Middleware

Garden Valley Telephone Cooperative in Northern Minnesota has chosen to replace their current IPTV middleware provider with the APMAX Middleware solution provided by Innovative Systems. One important reason for the decision is Innovative Systems’ ability to provide voice, video, and OSS services.

According to GVTC’s Chief Financial Officer, Mark Klinkhammer, a totally integrated solution from the enhanced service hardware (all the way to the billing system) has many advantages in cost savings and efficient business practices.
